You know how much I dislike 100 calorie snacks because I think you can just prepare your own snacks and it's cheaper? Well, in my copy of Ladies Home Journal this month I found some great ideas for 100 calorie snacks that are frugal and (some) healthy! So, go grab some snack bags from ALDI and create some do it yourself snacks for the kids. 1 small orange
15 mini carrots
3 TBS raisins
6 reduced fat Triscuits
1 cup celery
1 cup watermelon
13 animal crackers
3/4 oz cheddar cheese
2 Twizzlers
7/8 cup cheerios
2/3 cup mini marshmallows
1 cheese stick and 5 slices ham
These are all 100 calorie snacks that are great for school lunches. You know the other great thing? Most of them can be bought at ALDI for super cheap.
So, your turn: What snacks are your kids gonna be taking that are cheap?

Homemade hummus. . .cheap, loaded with protein, and you can make all kinds of flavors.
Cucumber links, mini fruit kebobs, any veggie cut up cute with ranch dip, granny smith apples with mozzarella cheese slices, pretzel rods wrapped with ham and swiss, homemade granola bars.
After the lastest deals at Jewel, it looks like we will start the year out taking fruit snacks (we have 15 boxes) and Nature Valley nut Clusters (9 bags) and peanut butter sandwiches (12 jars of PB). Any good deals on jelly coming up? :)
I saw a whole bunch of 100 calorie books over at Amazons Kindle store. Maybe you would like some of those... Just a thought. :)
