How to Get the Best Newspaper Coupons

Welcome to Mummy Deals!

I hear this comment so often that I want to address it, "Clair, where in the world are you finding those coupons? And what does SS mean?"

Well let's address the easy one first. There's a list of frugalite here for you to learn!

Secondly, I subscribe to a major metropolitan newspaper. Local ones are great for local news but don't contain as many coupons. The bigger the city the better the coupons. For great coupons subscribe to a major metro one. You don't need an all week subscription, a Sunday only will suffice and if you're worried about the $52/year it'll cost, it's so worth it!

Do you have to live in the area of a big metropolitan area to get their newspaper? If not, how does it work? Where do put that code for the cheaper subscription you shared with us?

Wouldn't you just get the paper & not the coupons if it was an out of area delivery?

When I lived in Crown Point, Indiana, I subscribed to the Chicago Tribune. On Sundays, I only received the paper without coupons and sale flyers. I eneded my subscription for that reason.

I buy my papers at Dollar Tree for a $1 each. I get 2-3, which is a deal to me.

I subscribed to the Chicago TRibune and have been very disappointed. I get a few sale flyers, and the smart source ad. I guess it is worth the 50 cents I pay but I was hoping for more.

In most cases (frankly, ALL CASES in my experience) when you buy or subscribe to an out-of-town (big city) news paper they do not include the coupon flyers/booklet or flyers for "local store" sales (even if the store is national or regional.)

We subscribe to the Chicago Tribune - but we live in the Chicago area - so it usually includes the coupons in the SUNDAY paper ($1.50) but sometime they are pretty skimpy and often after holiday weekends they don't include.

I THINK you can get them and print from ONLINE at sites like Valpak.com, SmartSource.com, and RedPlum.com. Store websites with weekly sale prices and coupons can usually be found there too. Hope this info helps a little!
